Criminals survey kicks off in Telangana

Under the Warangal Commissionerate area the details of more than 24,000 criminals were collected.

WARANGAL/NIZAMABAD: The comprehensive criminal survey was held at Warangal on Thursday by the commissioner of police G. Sudheer Babu. He along with his officials visited the homes of several repeat offenders and criminals in Mills Colony area and collected their information.

The exercise was carried out across erstwhile Warangal with the SP of Bhupalapalli, R. Bhaskaran and Superintendent of Police of Mahbubabad district N. Koti Reddy taking active part in the survey.

Under the Warangal Commissionerate area the details of more than 24,000 criminals were collected.

CP G. Sudheer Babu said they have begun the process one week back as it is not possible to complete collecting data of so many people in one single day. He said this survey, in which policemen personally visits the house of the criminal, would give an idea of the current lifestyle of the said criminal. The basic advantage is that if he is willing to indulge in criminal activity again, he may hesitate to do it as police knows all his details. The survey aims at creating a crime-free society, he said.

In Mahbubabad district, the information related to 6,321 criminals was collected and similarly in Jayashankar Bhupalapalli district the details of 301 criminals was collected.

202 teams to conduct survey in Nizamabad

A comprehensive survey of criminals begins under Nizamabad police commissionerate limits on Thursday.

Commissioner of Police Kartikeya flagged off the survey under I, II, III, IV and VI town police stations limits.

As many as 202 police teams were formed to conduct the survey in the district.
Sources said, in Nizamabad district 4,659 criminals have been arrested more than once in last 10 years.

Police have also forwarded details of 1,265 criminals from other districts, who committed offences in Nizamabad, to their respective districts.
