Nursing college in Mangaluru declared as cluster after 7 students test Covid+

Health department officials said that all the seven students are from Kerala and are doing their first year of nursing

Mangaluru: A private nursing college in Mangaluru has been declared Covid cluster after seven students tested positive.

Health department officials said that all the seven students are from Kerala and are doing their first year of nursing. They had come with a Covid negative certificate.

As per the guidelines those students who come from Kerala have to be kept in isolation and tested again on the 7th day. The district administration had collected the samples of 43 students of which seven tested positive. Others are negative.

All the students are asymptomatic and continue to be in isolation.
“As per the government guidelines the students were kept in isolation for seven days and were tested again on the 7th day. This preventive measure has helped in preventing the spread of Covid,” a health official said.
