Hyderabad: Managing Director of Sandhya Convention, S Sreedhar Rao, and his wife S. Sandhya, received a major relief from the High Court here on Wednesday. Justice Gandikota Sri Devi issued interim orders directing Telangana police against taking coercive steps against the two till further orders.
However, these interim directions will be applicable in the FIR registered against Sreedhar Rao in Narsingi police station, which had registered a FIR (No. 1352/ November 10) on a complaint by one Azam Shareef.
Rao and his wife filed separate quash petitions before the High Court seeking quashing of the FIR registered against them.
Senior counsel Dammalapati Srinivas, appearing for the petitioners, submitted that the cases were filed based on false charges and the police were trying to arrest his clients. Mentioning about another FIR in a separate police station, he apprehended that this could lead to PT warrants, the counsel sought relief for his clients.
Assistant public prosecutor Vizarat said that they would interact with police before going into the merits of the case. Agreeing to his contentions, the judge adjourned the case to next week.
