Telangana IT Minister and BRS working president KT Rama Rao on Wednesday assured the family of Marri Pravallika, the young woman from Bikkajipally who died by suicide recently, that the person responsible for her death would be punished and that all possible assistance would be provided to the bereaved family.
Pravallika’s mother Marri Vijaya, father Marri Linganna, and brother Marri Pranay, met with Rama Rao, and during the meeting, informed him that the Pravallika’s suicide was a result of her being harassed by Sivaram and requested the Minister that the man who was responsible for her death be punished.
Rama Rao, who expressed condolences at Pravallika’s death, assured the family of all help, and also spoke with the Director General of Police, and urged for faster investigation into the case. Rama Rao said while the loss the family suffered cannot be undone, the government would ensure that Pravallika’s brother would be given a job, and that the family would receive all help.
After the meeting Pranay said his family informed Rama Rao of the circumstances under which his sister took his life, and said that the Minister gave an assurance on punishing the guilty and assisting the family.
