CM KCR discusses central grants issue with CS

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K.Chandrashekar Rao, who is camping in New Delhi since Tuesday last, held a series of review meetings with Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and senior officials of irrigation, finance, and municipal administration departments.

The CS along with special chief secretary MAUD Arvind Kumar, irrigation special chief secretary Rajat Kumar and other senior officials left for the national capital on Monday.

Official sources said the CM reviewed mobilisation of financial resources in the wake of Centre imposing restrictions on the state government's loans obtained through market borrowings and off-budget borrowings. The CM also reviewed pending arrears and grants from the Centre and the measures to be taken to secure these arrears and grants amounting to nearly Rs 32,000 crore.

The CM reportedly reviewed the issue of the Central Water Commission (CWC) raising queries on revised DPR of the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation project. Officials informed the CM that the CWC has raised 11 questions and discussed the replies to be submitted by the state government.
