Solar commission report will add insult to injury: Kodiyeri Balakrishnan

Now with Commission coming out with startling findings, the Congress leaders were crying hoarse

Thiruvananthapuram: CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan on Tuesday said that Congress would only face further embarrassment if it got the full report of Solar Commission. He was reacting to the demands being made by Congress leaders for copies of the Commission report. “It is not legally binding to hand over the report to Oommen Chandy,” he said. The CPM leader said the government would issue a pucca order in connection with the investigations into the findings of the commission.

The party is planning to use the Solar Commission finding as a major campaign issue during the two state jathas beginning from Thiruvananthpuram and Kasargod from October 3 which would be led by Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and Kanam Rajendran. CPM view is that the government was only acting on the Solar Commission Report which had come out with damning findings against the top Congress leaders including Oommen Chandy, Aryadan Mohammad, A P Anil Kumar, Adoor Prakash, K C Venugopal and others.

The party said Chandy whose government had constituted the Commission and publicly declared that all matters raised within and outside Assembly connected with Solar issue would be part of the terms of reference of the probe. Now with Commission coming out with startling findings, the Congress leaders were crying hoarse.
