Top Maoist leader Malla Raji Reddy aka Sangram No More

KARIMNAGAR: One of the top leaders of the banned Maoist group, Malla Raja Reddy, 70, alias Sangram died suffering from illness in the deep forests. The Maoists group released a video confirming the death of Raji Reddy on social media on Friday.

Raji Reddy who hails from Shastulapally village of Manthani mandal situated in Peddapalli of erstwhile Karimnagar district worked with the top Maoist leaders Kondapalli Seetharamaiah, Ganapathi and Sathyamurthy and has reward of more than Rs.1 crore in different states on his name.

He played an active role in spreading the Maoist organization working dense forests of Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Karnataka and united Andhra Pradesh.

In 2008, in a conspiracy case the police officials registered against Raji Reddy in Karimnagar rural police station and arrested him and later arrested him on the charges of killing the former speaking Sripada Rao.

Raji Reddy spent two and half years in jail under various cases which were registered against him.

Raji Reddy was one of the four accused persons in the murder case of four persons done by the People’s War Maoist group in Tapalpur village of Jannaram mandal in Adilabad district of the United Andhra Pradesh.

In the Tapalpur murder case, the accused one was Kondapalli Sitaramaiah and accused two was Raji Reddy.

However, the family members of Raji Reddy did not confirm his death and has not released any statement.
