Nandyal MP Brahmananda Reddy seeks extension for trains

Kurnool: Guntakal divisional railway manager Manish Agarwal has received several proposals for new rail facilities, during his meeting with local leaders in Nandyal on Thursday. Nandyala MP Brahmananda Reddy submitted a representation to him.

One of the major requests was for the construction of a road under-bridge near c since there was inconvenience to farmers and locals due to the closure of a railway gate.

The Nandyala MP proposed the extension of the weekly express train from Mysore to Renigunta, with inclusion of Nandyal, for enhanced connectivity to the region.

He also presented the case for a Visakhapatnam - Tirumala Express, which currently terminates at Kadapa. He proposed that this train's route be extended to Nandyal. This would help Nandyala people with improved connections to Gudur, Ongole, Nellore, Bapatla and Tenali, he said.

The MP also called for introduction of express trains from Nandyala to Chennai and opening of new travel possibilities for the locals. He proposed extension of the Kadapa-Arakkonam passenger train up to Nandyala. He also wanted to extend the Guntur-Dhone Express route to Dharmavaram and Narasapur, for enhancement of connectivity to passengers along this route. Local leaders and railway officials were present.
