Kerala Women's Commission displeased with Speaker on P C George speech

Incidentally, the actor who was sexually attacked had written a letter to the Chief Minister seeking intervention against George.

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Women's Commission chairperson M. C. Josephine has shot off a letter to Legislative Assembly Speaker P. Sreeramakrishnan against P. C. George MLA. She expressed displeasure against the legislator stating that he had repeatedly made defamatory comments against the Commission and women. She demanded stringent action against the MLA. Incidentally, the actor who was sexually attacked had written a letter to the Chief Minister seeking intervention against George. This led Josephine to call on the female actor and express solidarity.

The Speaker was informed of the MLA being slapped with a suo moto case for making demeaning comments against womanhood with his words and deeds. Last week, Josephine had said that a letter had been given to the Legislative Assembly secretary on behalf of KWC director, V. U. Kuriakose. Speaker Ramakrishnan informed through his Facebook post that that the law would take its own course. He also came down heavily against the legislator without naming him stating that it was highly deplorable for a person like him repeatedly speaking against women. George however retaliated asking him where he was when power minister M. M. Mani too had made derogatory comments against women.
