KUMARAMBHEEM ASIFABAD: The Kagazngar police on Monday took Congress Sirpur (T) Assembly Constituency in-charge Dr Palvai Harish Rao into preventive custody to stop him from participating in an Eruvaka of Podu cultivators at Chedvai village under Penc-hikalpet mandal in Kumaram-bheem Asifabad district.
Dr Harish Rao has been supporting the Adivasis in their struggle for getting ownership of podu lands.
After his arrest, the police shifted him to the police station in Kagaznagar town and released him later.
The state government on Sunday had informed the Telangana High Court that each family of the evicted Adivasis would get three acres of land as per the rules of the government.
