KOZHIKODE: A petrol bomb was thrown at the house of a BJP worker Rajan Cheruparol in Theekkuni, near Velam late on Friday night. The front door and window panes were broken in the attack. Gramapanchayat president V.K. Abdulla visited the house and said that there was a conspiracy to spread violence in the area. Last week, houses of BJP leaders V.K. Sajeevan and Ramdas Manaleri were also attacked.
All the houses were constructed recently and Mr Abdulla said that attacks are aimed at disturbing the communal harmony of the area. Mr Ramdas had contested in the last Assembly election from Kuttiady constituency. Attacks on the houses of BJP and CPM workers had become a regular affair after the attack on CPM district committee office. The district collector had convened an all-party meeting to bring back harmony in the area.
