Tamil Nadu Assembly adjourned after paying tributes to S M Seenivel
Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Assembly was on Friday adjourned till Monday after paying rich tributes to S M Seenivel, MLA from Thiruparankundram in Madurai, who died a week after he was elected to the House. As soon as the proceedings began, Assembly Speaker P Dhanapal read an obituary reference and adjourned the House till Monday.
On Monday, the House will take up the debate on Motion of Thanks to the Governor’s Address, which is expected to continue till Wednesday. Members of all political parties represented in the House will participate in the debate that will last for three days.
On Thursday (June 23), Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa will reply to the Motion of Thanks after which the House is expected to take some unlisted legislative agenda. The decision to continue the session till June 23 was taken at a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee of the Tamil Nadu Assembly headed by Speaker P. Dhanapal.
