Mysuru: When Yaduveer donned teacher's hat

Young royal become a teacher for a day in Mysuru.

Mysuru: It wasn’t exactly a Roman Holiday. While a princess became a commoner for a day in the Hollywood oldie, Friday saw a young royal become a teacher for a day in Mysuru.

In a rare change of roles, the scion of the Mysuru royal family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar donned the hat of teacher, much to the delight of the 180 children of a government school in Vinayakanagar he taught for an hour. Invited by the Kalisu Foundation, an NGO, working to make learning more interesting in government schools, the 24-year-old royal arrived armed with a book and wearing a striped shirt and cream waist coat as he prepared to tackle his new role. For the next 20 minutes, he spoke to children of classes VI and VII about the history and heritage of Mysuru and followed it up with a quiz on the city of palaces. He later gave away prizes, and interacted with the children.
