Over 5,000 to participate in Kozhikode marathon
Kozhikode: A number of foreign athletes will participate in the 10-km Calicut mini-marathon on February 26 being organised with the theme ‘Healthy Living.’ The theme focuses on the fact that making a few changes in our lifestyle can help us live longer. Nearly 5,000 people have so far registered for the event, including from outside the country. “A group of IIM Kozhikode students had joined hands to start the Calicut mini-marathon. Since then, they have passed the baton to the new batches and now it is one of the largest student -run mini- marathons in India,” said Salman, a member of the committee.
Since its inception, it has championed various social causes to generate awareness and become an agent of change. To popularise the event, the students have so far conducted Flash Mob at the beach and shopping mall, cycle rally, sand sculpture, campus run, running workshops and promotion at movie theatres.
