Bengaluru lad bags 12 gold medals in BE exam

M.V. Vidwatha of Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) got the second highest number of gold medal.

BELAGAVI: Pranav P. a B.E Civil Engineering student of Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute of Technology (SMVIT) Bengaluru, has bagged 12 gold medals in B.E examinations conducted by Visvesvaraya Technological University for academic year 2015-16 and secured highest aggregate marks.

Of the 72 medals announced for toppers by VTU, Bengaluru's Dayanand Sagar Academy of Technology and Management topped the list with 32 gold medals.

M.V. Vidwatha of Bangalore Institute of Technology (BIT) got the second highest number of gold medals (seven) and secured first rank and highest marks in BE Computer Science and Engineering.

Mamatha R. of BIT, Pravesh Kumar Yadav of Chennabasaveshwara Institute of Technology Gubbi and R. Swetha of BMS Institute of Technology Bengaluru, got five gold medals each in the B.E examinations. Disclosing the names of toppers of B.E and post-graduate degrees of VTU for year 2015-16, VTU Vice-Chancellor Dr Karisiddappa said that Governor Vajubhai Vala would present medals to the toppers at the university's 16th annual convocation to be held at VTU’s Jnyanasangama campus in Belagavi on Saturday.

The university would present BE, B Arch, MBA, MCA, M Tech, M Arch and MSc (engineering) degrees to 71,717 students at the convocation, he said.

The university will also present 66 PhDs to its student, but this year no honorary doctorate will be given to any personalities, he added.

The other B.E gold medalists are: M.V. Chaitra Kadam, Pranav Adiga and N. Renuka (BIT Bengaluru); S.K. Karthik and Anika Manini Shankar (Oxford College Bengaluru); Anagha Setlur, Roshnee Das and Ramya (DSCE Bengaluru); Rajashree D. of ACS Bengaluru, D. Bhagyashree of Rajiv Gandhi College, P.D. Abhishek of Acharya Institute Bengaluru, P. Arpitha of UBDT Davanagere, M. M. Anagha of VVCE Mysuru; Gaurav Pujar of GIT Belagavi, V. Sendhura Chezian of TTIT KGF, Sapna Rao of MVJ Bengaluru, Vinayaprasad Gangayya of MMC Bengaluru and Harish Basutkar of BIET Davangere.
