Kakinada: A youth Kotipalli Lakshman (22) of Ravikampadu village died in an explosion at an old iron forging unit at Annavaram village in Sankavaram mandal of Kakinada district on Saturday evening.
Annavaram sub-inspector Ramesh Babu said that the owner of the unit gathers old iron material. He then deploys his staff to separate the material for his value-added business.
On Saturday, Lakshman, a young worker, was emptying some of the drums with liquid chemicals. This led to a blast and Lakshman died on the spot.
Annavaram police have registered a case.
