Jagan to Launch New Rs.25 Lakh Aarogaysri Cards Today

Vijayawada: Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has decided to storm the state with a slew of welfare schemes during the next one month in view of fast-approaching AP assembly elections.

The first of them is the upgraded Dr. YSR Aarogyasri card on Monday, which Jagan Mohan Reddy will distribute on Monday at an awareness programme being organised at the CM’s camp office.

The Chief Minister will explain to beneficiaries that they can now avail free treatment of up to ₹25 lakh under the new Dr. YSR Aarogyasri smart card. He will inform them how they can avail of free medical facilities under Aarogyasri, answer queries like where to go and whom to ask, and hold a programme for downloading the Aarogyasri App on cell phones of individuals.

The other schemes to be launched by the CM during the next one month are Jagananna Vidya Deevena, Jagananna Vasati Deevena, distribution of e-tabs to students, increase in social security pensions to ₹3,000, YSR Aasara and YSR Cheyutha.

From Monday onwards, ANMs, community health officers, Asha workers, volunteers, women police, MLAs, and other public representatives will ensure that at least one person in every household downloads the Aarogyasri App. They will provide comprehensive information about Aarogyasri services to 1.48 crore families and 4.25 crore beneficiaries.

Health minister Vidadala Rajini said the new Aarogyasri card contains a QR code, beneficiary’s photo, name and phone number of the head of the family, details of family members, and embedded ABHA ID of the beneficiary.

The minister said by logging in with the QR code embedded in the Aarogyasri card, doctors and staff will know the diagnostic tests, status of treatment, doctor's recommendations, nearby hospitals, directions leading to those hospitals through Google Maps and Aarogya Mitra contact numbers. Such prior knowledge about the patient's health conditions will help in providing better and free treatment quickly.

Rajini said under YSR Aarogya Aasara, Jagan Government is providing ₹225 per day up to ₹5,000 per month to Aarogyasri patients till they fully recover and go back to work or for as many days as per the doctor's advice. So far, Jagan government has provided ₹1,310 crore of financial assistance to 25,27,870 people, without stipulating any limits and bearing the full cost for treatment of life-threatening diseases like cancer.

The minister further pointed out that the Jagan government has spent a whopping ₹32,279 crore on reforms in the medical sector during the past 55 months.
