Kottayam: Revenue minister E. Chandrasekaran on Thursday said that Idukki MP Joice George didn’t encroach on government land, but it was the land given to him by his father. The minister made his stand clear on the issue while inaugurating the Udumbunchola Taluk office at the Nedumkandom mini civil station. The minister said that the title deeds were cancelled after verifying the current documents and if needed the decision to cancel the title deeds will be reconsidered.
Mr Chandrasekharan said that the decision of the CPI ministers to abstain from the Cabinet meeting is a closed chapter and the government will go ahead with the issue legally. He said that the law is equal for everyone and maintained that he will not allow anyone to take law into their own hands.
