Kottayam: The Munnar Janakeeya Samiti has declared a hartal on November 21 to protest against the the Devikulam RDO cancelling the title deeds of Idukki MP Joice George citing irregularities The hartal will be observed at Pallivasal, Munnar, Bison Valley, Chinnacanal, Santhanpara, Marayur, Kanthaloor, Vattavada and Vellathooval panchayats. The hartal is being organised to demand implementation of the decisions taken at a meeting presided over by the Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.
The demands raised by the Janakeeya Samiti include withdrawal of prohibition for construction related activities, to put an end to the anti people policies of the forest department and many other demands. The hartal and other protest meetings are being organised by not involving the Communist Party of India (CPI). The organisers of the agitation have revealed that they will be continuing with the protest meetings in the coming days.
