Kerala: Children's Day celebrated with colourful programmes

Students of various CBSE schools across the state celebrated this year's Children's Day with various colourful cultural programmes.

KOZHIKODE: Students of various CBSE schools across the state celebrated this year's Children's Day with various colourful cultural programmes. Viswajyothi CMI Public School celebrated the Children's Day and Management Day proclaiming that children are God's investment in the hands of parents. The school donated Rs 50 lakh to the Rajagiri Hospital, Chunangamveli, in order to meet the expenses of heart surgeries of 25 financially backward school students. Hospital medical director M.N. Gopinathan Nair received the cheque from the school manager Fr. Jose Padayatty.

Students of Sports and Management Research Institute (SMRI) launched the Childhood Olympics at Bhavan's Vidya Mandir, Girinagar. Childhood Olympics, the Olympics of wonderful childhood games, aims to promote better friendship, co-operation, co-existence, equality and happiness. The function was inaugurated by Hibi Eden, MLA, in the presence of Kochi Corporation health standing committee chairperson M.K. Minimol and tax appeal standing committee chair person K.V.P. Krishnakumar.

Crescent Public School, Chalakudy, celebrated the Children's Day with a grand function. Students of the KG wing were entertained with a magical show by magician Pius Kalabhavan. Apart from the special assembly, organised by students of classes I to V, a quiz competition on the life of Pt. Jawaharlal Nehru was also held. For parents, a good parenting class by Dr.Siju Thottappilly was organised. A motivational session by Prasidh Prasad was also conducted for students of senior classes. Kids Carnival, an event to excite and uplift the spirits of children, was celebrated with great pomp and show at Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tripunithura. The event was inaugurated by Dr. R. Anitha, assistant professor, DB College, Thalayolaparambu.
