Hyderabad: College students being utilised for voter verification drive in Secunderbad Cantonment is not going down well with family members.
It’s understandable if students come forward to participate in such drives, but what is the point in pressuring them to go to each house in a ward and take details, asked Abdul Rasheed, a B.Tech student from Secunderabad.
He said that his younger brother, who is pursuing undergraduation, was taken to Cantonment workshop along with 15 of his classmates.
“The college management said that some 20 students had to go for a programme in Cantonment in which most colleges are participating. Once they reached Cantonment workshop, authorities gave them a list of papers and asked them to visit each house and take voter details of all members,” Mr Abdul Rasheed said.
