Banks disburse Rs.544 crore loans to 14,504 beneficiaries in Kakinada City

KAKINADA: MLC Karri Padmasri said that banks have disbursed Rs.544 crore to 14,504 beneficiaries in Kakinada City. She was speaking as the chief guest at a loan distribution program organised by Kakinada Smart City Corporation on Saturday.
Padmasri said that the beneficiaries would get awareness about the various schemes that will enable them to be economically empowered. She added that 219 public sector banks, 68 private sector banks, 24 Regional Rural Banks, and 16 cooperative banks are ready to disburse loans to the beneficiaries for setting up various businesses and income-oriented programs.
Lead Bank convener Sai Manohar said that previously, the beneficiaries used to go to the banks for loans, but now the banks are going to the beneficiaries to serve them. He requested the beneficiaries to make use of the loans properly and repay the debt to get more loans again.
Lead Bank manager Ch.S.V. Prasad, NABARD deputy divisional manager Y. Somi Naidu, Kakinada revenue divisional officer N.V.V. Satyanarayana, and others were present at the event.
