Eminent Journalist Ch.V.M. Krishna Rao Passes Away

Hyderabad: Eminent journalist and political analyst Ch.V.M.Krishna Rao passed away on Thursday afternoon at his Journalist Colony residence in Hyderabad. He was 64 and has been battling cancer since last one year.

Affectionately addressed as "Babai" by people close to him, Krishna Rao's journalism career bears testimony to his dedication and was noted for his keen insights and relentless pursuit of truth. His 47 year long career journey took him across the leading English and Telugu dailies including Eenadu, Andhraprabha, Andhrabhoomi, Deccan Chronicle, and The New Indian Express.

He started his career in 1975 as a stringer and quickly made a name for himself in the field of journalism. His longest and perhaps the most significant stint was with Deccan Chronicle as the News Bureau Chief for 18 years. In the later part of his illustrious career he was the most popular and sought after political analyst who was part of almost all the prominent TV shows.

He is survived by his wife, son, daughter and grandchildren.
