All abscondees not terrorists: K P A Majeed
Thrissur: All those who went absconding after religious conversions could not be considered terrorists and it is improper to slap UAPA on them, Indian Union Muslim League state general secretary K.P.A, Majeed has said. Speaking at a special convention of the district unit of his party here at Sahithya Akademi Hall on Tuesday, he said there were concerted efforts from different quarters to destabilise the community by raising allegations of terrorism and militancy.
“The IS does not have any connection with religion, and it needs to be doubted that the US created such a terrorist organisation. Several more facts need to come out on reports that several persons who went out of Kerala for higher studies fell into the IS net,” he said. On CPM he said the party which was against laws like UAPA started registering cases invoking such laws after it came to power. He further said the League was able to resist the hardliners aftermath the Babri Masjid demolition.
