Court officers should update IOs: Gadwal SP

Hyderabad: Directing court duty officers to coordinate with investigating officers (IOs) in getting convictions, Gadwal Superintendent of Police (SP) K. Srujana asked the court staff to update details of regular court activities about the cases on the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network Systems (CCTNS) to keep track of pending cases.

The SP convened a meeting with court duty officers and reviewed the status of pending cases in which chargesheets have been filed by the IOs.

Court duty officers must focus on getting CC numbers after filing chargesheets in respective cases. “The duty officers should coordinate with the investigation officers by explaining regular activities of pending cases. If any case is acquitted, the court staff should inform the investigation officers and file appeals to higher courts for getting conviction by submitting proper evidence,” the SP said.

“Court duty officers play a key role in motivating the witnesses and visit the courts on a regular basis to track the pending cases’ details.

Court officers should communicate with investigation officers and SHOs about the non-bailable warrants and summons issued by the court to execute them on time,” the SP said adding the people would trust in police after the conviction rate is increased in respective courts.
