Digging starts, but jayadeva diversion gets a breather

Bengaluru: In a breather for commuters taking Jayadeva flyover junction, the BMRCL has said that the traffic diversion plan, has been put off for a week.

The BMRCL had earlier announced that flyover loop from Bannerghatta Road towards Central Silk Board Junction would be shut from July 15.

Once the traffic diversion comes into force, thousands of commuters will have to take a long detour.

The BMRCL has said it needs to study traffic patterns and take necessary action before actual work begins.

As per the BMRCL proposal, the junction will be pulled down and remodelled to accommodate an elevated road and interchange metro station of Reach 5 metro line from R.V. Road to Bommasandra and Reach 6 from Gottigere to Nagawara.
