Affair with techie's wife: Government transfers Superintendent of Police

BENGALURU: Just a day after the video of an IPS officer in a compromising position with the wife of a techie went viral, the government transferred the cop as the matter has reached the court. The government on Monday transferred Dr Bheema Shankar S. Guled, who was serving as the Superintendent of Police, Bengaluru Rural district, without giving him any posting. DCP Traffic (West) T.P. Shivakumar has been posted as the SP of Bengaluru Rural.

The video, in which Guled in police uniform is seen in an intimate position with the woman, has embarrassed the police department. The video, shot by Guled himself, got leaked on the internet after it was submitted at the Koramangala police station as proof by the techie husband, who accused the officer of forcing his wife into a relationship. Based on the techie’s complaint on Thursday, the police have taken up a non-cognizable case under Section 497 (adultery) of the Indian Penal Code, and are seeking the permission of legal experts to file an FIR as he is an IPS officer.

The government has also transferred Dr Suman D. Pennekar, SP, Karnataka Lokayukta, and posted him as the SP of Kodagu district. P. Rajendra Prasad, who was holding the post of Kodagu SP, has been transferred and is waiting for a new posting. Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister Dr G. Parameshwar has sought a detailed report. He said that as the senior officer holds an IPS rank and doesn't come directly under the state rank, an inquiry has been ordered.
