Karnataka SSLC result: 625/625, Bhadravathi lad does it for first time

The son of Shankaranarayan and Triveni, Ranjan studied in Poorna Prajna High School in Bhadravati.

BHADRAVATI: Ranjan P.S., a lad from Bhadravati, brought laurels to his hometown – and the state – by emerging as the Karnataka topper with a whopping 625 out of 625. His performance has added another feather in the cap for Shivamogga’s achievements at the state level as well.

The son of Shankaranarayan and Triveni, Ranjan studied in Poorna Prajna High School in Bhadravati. The school principal, Mr. Amaregowda, told Deccan Chronicle that Ranjan was a studious, disciplined boy. “He has achieved greater heights in the SSLC examination without going to private tuition. He was an all-rounder as well, excelling in debate, quiz contests and throwball. He is a model to his peers and to future SSLC candidates.”

All roads led to Ranjan’s house in Bhadravati, as soon as the results were released online. Relatives, friends, officials and elected representatives thronged the family residence to offer their congratulations to the bright, young pupil. Zilla Panchayat CEO Rakesh Kumar and Zilla Panchayat President Jyothi.S.Kumar honoured Ranjan for his tremendous achievement. The results were released on Monday by Primary and Secondary Minister Kimmane Rathnakar, who confirmed that no malpractice took place during the conducting of the exam. "Students feared legal action after the II PUC question paper leak and didn't attempt any malpractice," he said. Mr Rathnakara also said that the supplementary exam will be conducted on June 20, urging unsuccessful candidates - and their parents - not to lose hope.
