CBI renews plea for custody of Avinash's father

HYDERABAD: The CBI court on Monday heard the petitions filed by the CBI seeking custody of YSRC MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy’s father Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, and another accused, Gajjala Uday Kumar Reddy, in the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

The CBI told the court that there was clear evidence that the two accused were part of a larger conspiracy to kill Vivekananda Reddy.

CBI counsel brought to the notice of the court their Google Takeouts and mobile messages on the intervening night of the day when Vivekananda Reddy was murdered in 2019. The counsel also said that the two were involved in destruction of evidence.

Counsels for Bhaskar Reddy and Uday Kumar Reddy alleged that the CBI was only implicating them. After hearing both sides, the court adjourned the decision.
