Efforts on to prevent crop loss due to rains

HYDERABAD: Following incessant rains in the state for a few days, the state ministers conducted a review meeting with the officials and directed farmers to take precautionary measures to avoid crop loss.

Panchayati raj minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao, who reviewed the situation with the officials, advised farmers to shift the crops to safe places as unseasonal rains hit several places in the districts causing huge crop loss.

"Farmers have been faced with several issues due to incessant rains and officials have to attend in emergency situations. All government officials must make alternative arrangements in shifting crops to safe places during the rains," the minister said.

Meanwhile, energy minister G. Jagdish Reddy also conducted a review with the Suryapet district officials and directed the officials to take rescue measures during the rains.

The minister also directed district collector Vinay Krishna Reddy, municipal commissioner, irrigation and revenue officials to take up measures in emergency situations.
