High Court sentences SI candidates to work in government hospitals

The SI candidates filed a petition in the High Court. It then ordered that physical measurements of the candidates be taken at the court

VIJAYAWADA: The Andhra Pradesh High Court expressed its anger over a litigation related to measuring the height of candidates for the post of sub-inspectors.

The SI candidates filed a petition in the High Court. The court then ordered that physical measurements of these candidates be taken at the High Court.

However, some candidates tried to submit doctors’ certificates instead of going through the physical examination.

A bench of the High Court got angry over this and asked whether they are trying to cheat the court itself. Intervening, advocate Jada Sravan Kumar requested the court to forgive such candidates and tendered apologies to the bench.

The High Court earlier warned that it would blacklist such candidates from participating in government job selections. However, the bench later converted the punishment into social service. It ordered the SI candidates to serve in government hospitals. Further, they must file an affidavit of unconditional apology in the court.
