KOZHIKODE: Rajeesh Kollakkandy, a clerk at Government Polytechnic College West Hill, who was suspended for indulging in activities which could be slapped with UAPA, has decided to move court. According to Dr K. Vijayakumar, director of technical education, Rajeesh, is a member of an extreme Left outfit and indulged in activities which a government official is not supposed to. He said that the suspension was based on a report by Kozhikode city police commissioner. It is learnt that Rajeesh had made arrangement for Devaraj’s brother’s stay in Kozhikode.
Meanwhile, Rajeesh said he will approach court against suspension. “Suspension is nothing but revenge. Politics does not come in the way of a man who is dead. It is humane to help his family and is not prevented by service laws,” he said. Mr Rajeesh is an active member of Janakeeya Manushyavakasha Prasthanam and said that he had only booked a room for three persons from Chennai on November 25.
“An advocate, a rights activist and Kupu Devaraj’s brother spent only an hour in the room to refresh,” he said. He alleged that police is trying to slap UAPA against him by fabricating a case that he helped M.N Ravunni, the Porattam leader. “I have no connection with Ravunni,” Rajeesh said. Janakeeya Manushyavakasha Prasthanam general secretary Tushar Nirmal Sarathi urged the state to stop branding its criticisers as terrorists.
