Kerala High Court for banning tinned cola and soda at Sabarimala
The court was considering a plea on the environmental hazards created by the used cola and soda cans.
Kochi: Kerala High Court on Thursday asked the Pollution Control Board to take a final decision on the possibility of banning tinned cola and soda at Sabarimala. The court was considering a plea on the environmental hazards created by the used cola and soda cans. The petitioner Saji of Mundakkayam sought to ban the soda cans just like the ban imposed on plastic water bottles.
He argued that the pilgrims coming to Sabarimala were throwing the cans carelessly after consuming the soft drinks. The Pathanamthitta forest range officer, meanwhile, filed a report before the Sabarimala special officer stating that the used cans were posing danger to the reptiles and wild animals.
