Kanam Rajendran calls it a war against the layman
Thiruvananthapuram: CPI state secretary Kanam Rajendran on Tuesday accused the Centre of declaring a war against the common man in the name of checking black money. He was inaugurating the protest march organised by the CPI to RBI headquarters here. "We support all measures to check black money and unearth where ever it is stashed. But the demonetisation decision has created huge problems for the people and a sense of uncertainty in the society,” he said.
He said the Centre was not taking any steps to bring back the black money stashed in foreign banks. Instead the government was trying to help them whiten the unaccounted money. The move was to hide the failures of Narendra Modi government which had completed more than two years in the office. Kanam said the prime minster had stated in Goa that his decision had led to sleepless nights to the big sharks. However the ground reality is different.
“The common man, daily wager and poor people are bearing the brunt and they are having sleepless nights because of non availability of currency notes. They are not able to carry out their day to day activities,” he said. The DYFI took out a march to RBI headquarters here in protest against the government failure to provide currency notes.
