Raavi Narayana Reddy\'s granddaughter files complaint against Razakar film

Hyderabad: The Raavi Narayana Reddy National Foundation member and Narayana Reddy's granddaughter Raavi Prathiba Reddy on Monday filed a petition with Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Vikas Raj, seeking a direction to scrutinise the film ‘Razakar’ which she alleged was made with communal overtones.

"The Telangana armed struggle was a heroic revolution of the peasants to liberate themselves from the clutches of the Nizam and Razakars. Charismatic Muslim leaders Maqdoom Mohiuddin, Shoebulla Khan, Jawad Razwi and many more were the pioneers of the historical armed struggle,” she said.

“The film, Razakar, is ready to hit the screens. There are some objections that the film is made on communal-related issues. We request the CEO to scrutinise the film before releasing it," Prathibha Reddy said.

She said that Telangana had diversified castes, linguistics, cultures, and geographical demarcation. Telangana State has a history of revolutions and revolts against the atrocities on the poor and downtrodden, she said.
