Three students including a girl die in car crash in Chennai
Chennai: Three college students were killed and three others, including a girl, injured when the car in which they were travelling lost control, hit median and landed on other direction before hitting a tree on GST Road in Kattanulathur on early Saturday morning. While five victims are students of SRM university, Potheri, one injured is a BBA-LLB student from Bangaluru.
The deceased were identified as Subam Singh,18, of Patna, Sammar Singh, 19, from New Delhi and Neel Kundal, 19 of Himachal Pradesh. The injured were identified as Neeha, 19, Sidarth Singh, 19, and Sivanji, 19, all from Patna. Among the deceased Sammar and Neel were computer science students while Subam was doing information technology course. Injured Sivanji is studying in Bengaluru.
Police said Sidharth Singh was driving the Toyota Etios, (TN 09 CB 2673) belonging to a car rental firm in Chennai, when the mishap occurred around 6.15 am. The students, staying in an apartment in Thailavaram had gone to consume morning tea in a shop in Mahindra city in the car and were returning to their place of stay when the accident happened. Police said they were awaiting arrival of family members of the deceased to conduct autopsy.
