The hospital is now on its way to establish a full-fledged bone marrow transplant facility along with transplantation immunology, and stem cell labs to give a single-point solution to all ESIC Medical College Hospitals in the country.”

The hospital has been providing comprehensive cancer treatment to ESIC insured persons and beneficiaries, he said, adding that an emergency Bone marrow stem cell transplant was performed on an 18-year-old female patient diagnosed with severe aplastic anemia with other underlying conditions that made the transplant challenging. “The peripheral blood stem cells were harvested from a fully matched sibling donor, and the patient has returned to near full activity after recovering from the underlying condition,” he said.
