Winds of change are blowing across Raj Bhavan.

Active Governor
Winds of change are blowing across Raj Bhavan. The quiet life that its staff enjoyed upto now seems all but over as Governor Vajubai Vala has of late gone into active gear, organising one event after another. Since being judged best governor by Rashtrapati

Bhavan, he has given up his quiet and reticent ways and opened up Raj Bhavan for public viewing and in October, he is likely to organise a seminar on Mahatma Gandhi. The move, it appears, has earned him even more kudos from the President as the

Rashtrapati Bhavan is said to have asked all Raj Bhavans to organise similar events now. With Mr Vajubai Vala seemingly not short of ideas, his staff cannot be but on tenterhooks, with all the extra work coming their way. It seems to have finally dawned on them that working for the Governor is no picnic!

Rafale deal foxes Congressmen
Be it within India or abroad, Congress president, Rahul Gandhi makes sure to air his views on the Rafale deal. Following his lead, Congress party leaders of Mangaluru too organised a protest rally on the deal recently. Only, they had little idea what it was about. Worse, their fumbling on the facts was captured on video and displayed for all to see on social media where it went viral.

Responding to questions by journos on the deal, a former vice president of the Zilla Panchayat and also a senior office bearer of the District Congress Committee, mumbled, "I will prepare and come back." A corporator tried her best to “explain,” what the deal was about, but failed. She finally promised to produce the 'notice' (pamphlet)

which has details about the issue. Sadly, every leader present had his own definition of the deal, and even of the “kickback amount” received. Some of the participants at the rally had no idea why they were there and merely believed they had come to protest the price rise in the country. Unfortunately, for the Congress, before it could put a lid on the ignorance of its leaders, the cat was out of the bag, leaving many red faced as Netizens had a good laugh at their expense.

The cold war goes on
She may be at the centre of a storm over the PLD bank polls in Belagavi with the Jarkiholi brothers training their guns on her, but an unperturbed Laxmi Hebbalkar organised a government programme in her constituency on Sunday, inviting Chief Minister, H.D. Kumaraswamy and a host of other dignitaries. The only exception was district- in- charge minister, Ramesh Jarkiholi, whose name was missing from the list of invitees. Interestingly, however, his brother and Congress MLA, Satish Jarkiholi was seated beside her. But if cameramen were looking for signs of a rapprochement, they were sorely disappointed as the two did a good job of ignoring each other, not speaking at all all through the function. The cold war was clearly on.
