Oommen Chandy bows out of KPCC president talks
Kochi: Former Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has poured cold water, at least for the time being, over the talks that he is all set to become the KPCC president as part of the organisational revamp. Speaking to reporters here on Friday Chandy made it clear that he is not willing to take any official positions in the party for the time being.
Taking the responsibility for the defeat of Congress and UDF in the assembly elections he said it would not be right on his part to assume any leadership position in such situation. The name of Chandy as KPCC president gained wide currency in the past few days as there is an increasing feeling amongst the rank and file of the party a dynamic leader like Chandy should be at helm to pull the party out of its present lethargy.
