Miscreants kill Tasmac staff, run away with cash

The supervisor when questioned told the police that he was not in the shop when the murder took place.

KRISHNAGIRI: In a sensational development, some miscreants allegedly killed the staff of a state-run liquor retailer, Tasmac, and made good with cash of Rs. 1.50 lakh and liquor bottles from the shop on Wednesday night in Kuruparapalli police limits in Krishnagiri district.

Police said 42-year-old Jaganathan, working as supervisor of the wine shop in Kuruparapalli police limits, on information, raised an alarm following the brutal murder of the shop salesman Raja (43), a native of Meenakshi Mandapam area, near Musiri of Tiruchy district.

The supervisor when questioned told the police that he was not in the shop when the murder took place. He had come to the spot and found his salesman lying in a pool of blood with deep cut injuries in his chest and the neck, he told police.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the miscreants who committed the murder had entered the shop by using force and then killed Raja when the victim resisted their robbery bid. The Krishnagiri district SP, Mr. Bandi Gangadar, rushed to the spot and held an inquiry. He also set up special teams to trace the miscreants who committed the gruesome murder for gain.
