Dote asks engg colleges to wind up admission

Hence, the colleges will be permitted to fill their vacancies only up to August 15, the circular said.

Chennai: The Directorate of Technical Education (Dote) has asked engineering colleges to wind up admission for B.E., B.Tech., B.Arch courses for the current academic year.

In a circular to all principals of engineering colleges, Dote said as per the AICTE's notification, the last date for first year B.E., B.Tech admission is August 15.

Hence, the colleges will be permitted to fill their vacancies only up to August 15, the circular said. Nearly one lakh seats in the private engineering colleges were not filled in this year's single window counselling for engineering courses.

So, the engineering colleges were permitted to fill up the vacant seats up to August 15. After finishing their admission, the colleges also asked to enter their admission data in the web portal of Dote.
