Vizag-based firm withdraws plaint against TS

The petitioner neither participated in pre-bid meetings nor filed tender process for painting works of schools costing Rs 820 crore

HYDERABAD: The Visakhapatnam-based firm M/s Suvarnasri Venkateswara Infracon, which approached the Telangana High Court accusing the state government of irregularities in allocating tenders for painting works of around 26,065 government schools under the Mana Ooru - Mana Badi (MOMB) scheme to Megha Engineering joint venture and others, withdrew its petition on Friday.

Before hearing of the case, the counsel for the petitioner firm requested the court allow it to withdraw the petition. However, the government filed an affidavit stating that the petitioner firm had filed the plea with misconceived ideas.

The petitioner firm neither participated in pre-bid meetings nor filed tender process for painting works of schools under MOMB scheme worth around Rs 820 crore.

The petitioner firm earlier had accused that the eligibility prescribed to participate in bidding was to favour the said firms and the norms were tailor-made to favour the firms and to avoid all other firms not to participate in the tender process.
