Bharath Hospital nurses end protest

The nursing superintendent would publicly apologise for misbehaviour.

Kottayam: Some 150 nurses at the Bharath Hospital here ended their strike on Saturday evening after the hospital authorities accepted their demands including the removal of the CCTV camera from areas where they change their dress. They also got assurances on a separate place for rest and sleep. The nursing superintendent would publicly apologise for misbehaviour.

“The rest of demands including the change in the working shift will be discussed at the meeting at the district labour office on Wednesday," said Aswathy Chandran, unit president of the UNA. The settlement followed the intervention of Youth Front (M) president Saji Manjakadamban.
