ANANTAPUR: Parents performed the last rights of their daughter after she married the person she loved. A video of the parents performing the 11th day Vykunta Samaradhana to her framed photo has gone viral on social media.
G. Peddanna and Urukundamma of Hanumapuram village in Peddakadubur mandal of Kurnool district have three daughters. Their eldest daughter fell in love with a youth belonging to the same caste living in a nearby village. The daughter sought her parents’ permission for marrying the person of her choice.
Peddanna and Urukundamma refused to provide permission even though area police tried to convince them saying their daughter is a major and could marry the person of her choice.
When the parents still refused, the daughter married the person she loved.
On Friday, Peddanna and Urukundamma performed Vykunta Samaradhana for their daughter’s photo. They even invited relatives and villagers for the ceremony.
