Kerala Lailthakala Akademi Art Gallery to get a facelift soon
Kozhikode: The Kerala Lailthakala Akademi Art Gallery will be ready for exhibitions after the renovation works are completed. The renovated Gallery will sport improved lighting and flooring.
The renovation work is being done by the Kerala Nirmithi Kendra and will be completed in phases. During the first phase, lights of the Gallery will be replaced and their positions will be corrected. Flooring and painting would be completed in another month.
"At present, they have shortage of workers and with the available strength they are renovating the lighting arrangements and correcting their position. As they get enough workers, the flooring and painting works would also be completed," said a Gallery staff.
Though the Gallery will be opened briefly for exhibition from June 21, it will be closed again in July for the remaining works.
The present structure of Art Gallery was built with the help of the Kozhikode Municipal Corporation. It was opened for public in December 2012.
