HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court directed the commissioner of Turkayamjal municipality in Ranga Reddy district to file a detailed affidavit by July 27, listing the road encroachments in their jurisdiction and steps taken to the restoration of the roads.
The High Court was dealing with a petition complaining that the municipal authorities did not prevent road encroachments.
A petitioner submitted that the encroachers had occupied eight feet of the public roads by constructing staircases, parking lots and compound walls. The petitioner also said the authorities had not heeded his complaints seeking the demolition of the encroachments.
