SC refuses to stay AP HC order on R-5 Zone

Vijayawada: The Supreme Court has refused to issue a stay on the Andhra Pradesh Court’s order allowing the state government to allot house sites to the non-locals in Amaravati by setting up R-5 Zone.

The court decided to transfer the case to the bench hearing AP’s three capitals issue.

The apex court heard a batch of petitions filed by the farmers from capital region Amaravati in New Delhi on Monday. They were challenging the AP HC order allowing allotment of house sites in Amaravati to the non-locals hailing from poor backgrounds.

Earlier, the AP HC set aside a batch of petitions filed against allotment of these house sites in Amaravati.
