What are the major issues in the Padmanabhanagar constituency?
Issues are aplenty. Right from waste disposal to leaking sanitary pipes, traffic, flooding and encroachment of footpaths and lakes... the constituency is riddled with a lot of issues. Major stretches in the constituency, like Vishnuvardhan Road and Ittamadu Road, have become traffic bottlenecks and need expansion. The area MLA has been turning a blind eye to encroachment of lakes in the constituency. Garbage collection is not happening properly and garbage burning is the number one problem. There are many black spots in the constituency.

How is the mood of the people ?
People are fed up with the MLA (R. Ashok - BJP) who does not even have an office in the constituency. He surfaces only during elections and then vanishes for another five years. There is a strong anti-incumbency feeling in the constituency and this time, the JD(S) is expected to sweep.

Tell us why should people vote for V.K. Gopal?
We have been working really hard for the people of the constituency for the past two years. It is not any rocket science to address major issues of the people. It just needs a political will. We have a 15-point agenda for people, ranging from tackling environmental issues, widening roads and footpaths, replacing leaking drains, taking appropriate action to prevent flooding and efficient disposal of garbage. We have plans to set up a 400 bed multispeciality hospital free of cost on an one acre land that belongs to us in the name of our leader H.D. Deve Gowda. We promise to upgrade the quality of education in schools and improve government hospitals.
