Electrification for Undi-Narasapuram Rly line complete
KAKINADA: The South Central Railway has completed the electrification of railway tracks from Undi-Narsapur in West Godavari district and the trains will run on the electrified tracks soon. Diesel fuel trains will no longer run on these tracks.
South Central Railway, commissioner railway safety, A.K. Roy inspected the electrification of the tracks from Undi to Aravalli and T. Narasapuram to Bhimavaram on Tuesday. The railway officials said that after the completion of inspection, the railway line will be operational.
As part of the electrification, a 220 KV sub-station has been set up at Undi railway station and new signalling system is being set up at Bhimavaram Junction. The present signal system at Bhimavaram Town Station has been closed.
There was no electrification on the track so far and all the trains like Tirupati, Nagarsoil, Hyderabad and others, changed its electrical engines into diesel engines at Gunturu.
But, now, there will not be such cumbersome exercise. Due to electrification of the tracks, trains will save nearly one hour between Narsapur-Vijayawada-Guntur. The double railway line was on the tracks between Bhimavaram-T.Narasapuram-Aravalli.
