Eligibility criteria for physical directors in inter: Hearing remains inconclusive

Hyderabad: A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court on Thursday heard inconclusively a writ petition questioning the general notification issued by Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) for recruitment to the post of physical director in intermediate Education. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji, was dealing with a writ petition filed by Satish Babu Dunna and 56 other aspirants.

The petitioners complained that the notification requiring a candidate applying for the post of physical director in intermediate education to possess a post graduate degree was both unprecedented and irrational when the only requirement for eligibility was a PG in physical education.

The court was also informed that a similar matter was already heard and TSPSC was urged to permit the petitioners to participate in the recruitment process. The bench declared the same order to be passed in other matters as supra. Matter is listed for March 13 for further hearing.

Bathurkunta lake encroachment: Show cause notice to state officials

A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court on Thursday ordered show cause notice to the state authorities of their inaction in a matter pertaining to land grabbing and lake pollution in Shaikpet village, Hyderabad. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji, heard a writ petition filed by Syed Nizamuddin, regarding the encroachment of buffer zone lands and nalas at Bathurkunta lake. It was alleged that the encroachers were polluting the lake with sewerage. While ordering notices to the authorities, the bench posted the matter to April 20 for further adjudication.

AP govt ordered to pay as per MSME award

A two-judge panel of the Telangana High Court on Thursday disposed of a writ petition directing Andhra Pradesh government to pay the amount as per MSME award. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and N. Tukaramji, was dealing with a writ petition filed by National Small Industries Corporation Ltd [NSIC].

The petitioner challenged the award of MSME facilitation council directing the petitioner to pay the amount to Brahma Teja Paper Products [BTPP]. BTPP had initiated arbitration proceedings through MSME facilitating council against the petitioner and Andhra Pradesh social welfare residential educational institutions society [APSWREI] towards supply of material made by them. The bench set aside the award and directed the society to make payments as per the award.

Advocate’s arrest: Rachakonda top cop told to produce remand case diary

A two-judge bench of the Telangana High Court on Thursday directed the commissionerate of police, Rachakonda to produce the remand case diary in a matter pertaining to the procedure being followed in issuing a 41A notice prior to the arrest of a female advocate. The bench, comprising Chief Justice Ujjal Bhuyan and Justice N. Tukaramji, heard the writ petition filed by Dr. Eunice L. Chawngthu, a practicing advocate appearing in person. It was alleged that personnel at Nacharam police station had misbehaved and carried out an unlawful arrest, when she had appeared for TSPGLCET LLM entrance exam at a Nacharam centre. It was contended that the petitioner was late for the exam and started creating animosity in the exam centre.

The officials tried issuing a notice under section 41A, which was allegedly refused by the petitioner, upon which the arrest was made. The bench directed the commissioner of police Rachakonda to produce the remand case diary.
